Dark Orbit is one of the most popular browser games published by Bigpoint. It should be noted that it’s not for every player. While some will be suited with the unique and comic atmosphere and happy to admire the vast universe, others will go back to Earth as soon as it’s possible.
The first mission
Our space voyages will start by choosing one of three corporations fighting for a permanent domination in the universe. Each offers a different path of development. Some of them want to get rich, others try to create a society or care about individuals’ development. In fact, the choice aims at the division of the community into three rational sides, in order to make the game more interesting. Once you decide to join one of the corporations you move to the main page, where you'll manage your ship, research or even trade. There are two currencies - the Credits and Uridium. As you probably already guessed, it’s not so easy t get the second one, while the former is more common and thanks to it we’ll buy primary weapons, ammunition and equipment. The simplest way to get Uridium is to pay for it with your real money, so be careful on what you spend the amount you receive at the start.

Take off!
If you already familiarize yourself with your side, then it’s time to enter the real game. Click "Start" and the tutorial will explains the basis of movement in the game - it is not difficult, because in a moment we’ll learn to tramp the space with our small craft. It looks like in Deepolis, but here we can’t change the height - we fly only in the horizontal position. After completing this tutorial we are ready to travel between zones. At present we have about thirty maps connected with each other with numerous portals. Most of them use the formula of an open PvP, so we must be careful. We can find almost everywhere our enemies waiting to attack single crafts of the opposite fractions. So it’s a good idea to find quickly a clan or invite friends to play. Outer space conceals also gifts - sometimes we’ll come across floating somewhere money, resources or ammunition. Collecting gifts and becoming a pirate aren’t the only ways of getting richer- we also have quests, based on hunting for NPCs’ spaceships or flying from point A to point B.
The fight
Quests that can be done on our own - hunting for NPCs or searching for scrap drifting in space – may seem boring, but the game isn’t about this. Fights are the best in the game. Battles in the Dark Orbit take place in real time. Select your target, then click the laser or missile icon. The amount of damage inflicted depends on the destruction weapon installed on the board of our craft and the quality of ammunition. Of course, if you want to spread destruction in the universe, you’ll have to spend a bit of Uridium. That's why the best ammunition should be left for PvP, while fighting with the NPC we should use the cheapest. It’s the possible to attack whoever you want to, which makes the gameplay more interesting, yet a little more complicated. Visiting foreign territories on your own isn’t a good idea, especially while flying an expensive spaceship. That’s why players organise themselves into clans and travel in groups. What’s more, we collect Jackpot points as in War of Titans, so that every month you can win up to $ 10,000. Each month a battle is organized in a specific map, the one who survives the duel will win the equivalent of the earned points in dollars.
